Connecting to a device

In order to connect to a device you need to connect to a network where your device is available. It can be a public Wi-Fi, your own Wi-Fi AP or connection to mobile network via 3G/4G/LTE, it depends on what your device supports. To access the connection administration click on the Wi-Fi icon in the Menu.

You can add a new connection by using a + button located on the bottom right. When you click on it a dialog box appears. For easier identification enter the name of the connection, the guest, which can be an IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.0) or a domain (e.g. google.com), the port and choose between UDP or TCP protocol. You can edit the connection with a long touch and delete it by swiping your finger from the left to the right or from the right to the left. You can connect to a device by clicking on one of the added connections.

After you have been connected you will see a small Wi-Fi icon above the Menu button.

When connecting via UDP connection means that the socket is open. There is no verifying mechanism, therefore, it only shows the readiness to “transmit”.

You can find the IP address of the device on which you run the application in Menu > Configuration > Connection. Here you can choose if you want to display this information as an incoming message after connecting to the device. Here you can also set a static port where the application waits for incoming messages and the number of repetitions during communication via UDP protocol.

You can disconnect with a button marked with a Wi-Fi symbol which you will see after opening the Menu.

I cannot connect. What should I do?

  1. Check if you are connected to the same network as the device you want to use.
  2. If you are using a static port for receiving messages, make sure there is no other application occupying it.
  3. Check firewall setting if it does not block the port or IP.
